209 scholarship is an independent, apolitical charitable organization with a mission of supporting the schools, students and graduates of Proviso High School District 209. Our Gift Acceptance policy prevents us from accepting donations of over $200 annually from the following:
A. People, businesses or organizations with, or who are seeking a contract or material financial interest with Proviso Township High School District 209
B. Owners or lead employees of entities listed in line A
C. Employees of District 209, or people applying for jobs at District 209.
If 209 scholarship receives a gift from one of these restricted categories, we will make a good faith effort within 12 months of receipt to return the donation or re-gift to a national scholarship organization operating outside of Proviso Township. This policy will be made publicly available on the 209 scholarship website and other donation avenues as appropriate.
